The Coming of the Tuatha Dé Danann and the Four Treasures

They came in a mist on the feast of Bealtaine, the Tuatha Dé Danann, landing on Sliabh an Iarainn and darkening the sun for three days.

They brought four treasures: the Stone of Fál, the Spear of Lugh, the Sword of Nuada and the Cauldron of the Dagda.

When the Milesians came, the old ones did not die. They withdrew into the sídhe, the hollow hills, with Brú na Bóinne, Newgrange, as the Dagda's hall.

Now the mounds stir again. The mist is rising. The Tuatha Dé Danann are returning.

These are legends from medieval manuscripts, not recorded history.
